ARU boss John O'Neill optimistic about changing of the guard

ARU managing director John O'Neill believes Australia is embarking on a groundbreaking Super 14 season with a new landscape through the coaching ranks.

Not only will this be Robbie Deans's first Super season in his role as Australia coach, but the tournament heralds a changing of the guard in the provinces.

At the Brumbies Andy Friend has replaced long-serving Laurie Fisher, while at NSW Chris Hickey has taken over as head coach from stalwart Ewen McKenzie.

Phil Mooney is shaping up for just his second season in charge of Queens;and, and John Mitchell remains in charge of Western Force.
