    West Australian 19/1/09

Excellent report in todays West on p53.

Dave Hughes talks to the support staff and players about the upcoming season.

John Mitchell " We've had a few bullets pired at us and we will use those to our advantage.

He praised Mullvihill, Fearn and Masters on preparing the team.

JM - "physically we are in good shape and our skill level will get a lot beter over the next 3 weeks"

"Nothing is going derail us" - unnamed club official.

Mullvihill " We're doing things a little differently is regards the shape of our attack"

"THe players have bought into what we are doing and there's actually a positive feeling in the team"

Mullvihill on Connollys article yesterday "It might look different to those looking in but we're happy with the way we are going"

John Mitchell happy with the progress of Nick Cummins at Outside Centre during the practice match. "He looked very comfortable there and has the ability to straighten the attack and ask questions of the defender one on one"

The teams came through the trail match unscathed and go into camp at Guildford on Wednesday to prepare for the Crusaders game.

But the highlight of the article is the headline.

Quite clearly the article is awkward and disjointed. I would like to get the real thoughts of the writer......

The optimist in me thinks that despite what a bunch of media hacks say about these scandals affecting on field performance the players will actually do their talking on the field to shut them up.

If someone was giving me shit I would work twice as hard just to make them eat it back up again.

'unnamed club official'...its a good news story (which is good to read for a change!) so why can't the source be named?.....
