Super 14 jerseys unveiled for 2009 (NZ)

New Zealand's Super 14 jerseys have received another tweak - though the latest changes from newly-recommitted sponsor adidas should meet with fan approval.

The official jerseys for the five Super 14 franchises were unveiled today at a sparkling launch function at Auckland's viaduct.

The main change sees each of the franchises now supplied with an official "away" jersey that will be worn for all matches on the road during the competition which kicks off on February 13.

Plus each of the jerseys, as well as featuring the latest generation of "ForMotion" technology, also now displays a motif on it that is symbolic of the franchise (or, as the press release puts it, "uniquely characterises the roots of the region".)

dunno about the crusaders away strip but i like both the blues & canes ones, the highlanders away strip looks too similar to the Saders home one...

The Blues outfits look too much like the Bulls ones. Plus the Crusaders away jersey looks like the Sydney Swans.

Fully agree, senseless slaughter of canaries for nothing.

The blue and green socks were a concern when we beat the Wallabies. Looked more like the Lions colours.

cant imagine any significant changes with the Reds jersey since the sponsors and supplier are the same as last year

You can never go wrong with electric blue. The Jerseys should look as the team should feel. It must be bloody hard to get fired up by the dull grey of the Sharks kit or the Lions boring Red for that matter. Girl blue (Waratah blue) is pretty far from inspirational too.
