Listening to my favourite Sports Talk show yesterday. Panel was Graeme Hughes, Peter Tunks (ex-Bulldogs) and Gavin Robertson (ex Aussie cricketer and general whipping boy on the show - he was an offie so no surprise).
Robbo now works in corporate for GWS Giants.
Anyway some old biddie rings up complaining that they never talk about AFL. Went something like this....

"there's lots of us who love that game in Sydney now"

Hughes; "Well it's a talk back show and people can talk about whatever sport they want"

"Yes but you always talk about Rugby League"

Tunks " That's because most of our listeners follow RL. But you're on now so go for your life"

"Well I'll work on it. Got nothing to say right now"

Robbo "Is that you Mum?"

"Yes it is Gavin"

Robbo immediately hangs up on his Mummy in extreme embarrassment.

Then just howls of laughter in the studio.

How long you reckon he's gonna cop it for that one??

At the Rocks? My brother was the cook, put on the counter lunches there 30 odd years ago. It was a working mans pub back then, a bit rough and ready. No craft beer in those days just Resch's and one or two others on tap.

About 45 years ago I worked in the Darling Harbour woolstores for a short while. Was interesting walking from The Quay station at about 6:45 am past the Lord Nelson seeing all the wharfies drinking up large at breakfast time. F@ck I'm old.
