    Umaga's team fined over mass brawl (+vid) - Rugby news & coverage - Stuff.co.nz

Tana Umaga's Toulon side and Stade Francais have both been fined after an ugly brawl in their Top 14 clash in mid September.

Both sides were fined 5000 euros ($NZ10,600) over the all-out fight which flowed over to the benches.

Toulon prop David Banquet and Stade counterpart Rodrigo Roncero were suspended for 10 days while Toulon's scrum-half Norman Jordaan was banned for 20 days for punching an opponent.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

So this is a second brawl? There was one about 6 months ago in a pre-season game I think, where Umaga got on the field to break it up and was red carded..

that is a disgrace to rugby and absolutely horrible. the game is exciting enough without that kind of thing happening...

A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

It isn't a tear, it's a little droplet of nostalgia

Toulon has become a proper French Farce - it's funny - wonder how their crowd figures are going - poor Henjak

i think a brawl once in a while makes it a bit more entertaining.
When i go into a game, i'm all fired up and passionate, so when push comes to shove, you got 15 blokes on each team ready to stand up for their mates.
Gives a whole new meaning to the team.....

That was beautiful to watch, a good old fashioned dust up should be one mandatory every game. Clears the air and is usually the end of the dirty stuff.

Like Big Darryl Eastlake said during of the State Of Origin brawls one year "There's nothing wrong with this kids".

    Bloody hell! Daryl Eastlake?

Even I can hardly remember him. You are a true RL tragic, if ever I've seen one.

    Jeez that was lightweight!

I want my 3:29 back, I didn't see a single hit as good as most that get dished out in your typical Rocko grade match....
