So, why not just build a new Rugby Stadium/upgrade MES really good and have RugbyWA offices & a gym there. They could use all of the moolah that's been dedicated to building new RugbyWA offices and chuck that in the kitty for upgrading MES. Then get the WA Soccer and Rugby League people onto it as well, then there will be a mass amount of finances available for the upgrade and *TADA* promlem solved and everyone's happy.

Ya see Laura, the problem with your proposal is how simple it could be achieved.

How true NTT, simplicity of planning and amalgamation of codes to a dedicated field will not work. It does not supply a revenue base for the WAFC either.
    Good plan but.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Private enterprise listen to the shareholders more than governments listen to the voters

I'll go for door number 2 - Leonora....... nice place, just a wee drive to the north east but I don't think they actually go for rugby out that way - that may be a problem.

As opposed to corrupt politicians pandering to AFL? This is the ONLY way to get a decent solution for WA.

and MES is owned by a private company, so you need their permission to upgrade.

It was just a basic plan, I wasn't going into the specifics of how to pull it off! Obviously there are other things to consider and overcome first, but I think it could be a good way to go. Give control of the stadium to the owner's and the Sports Minister (maybe, if he's any good) and then it will all be happy families

At a rough guess, the MES thing wouldn't work becasue they're short on space there as it is- expansion to 35,000 would require taking in a bit of the park next to it as it is- building all the admin and training facilities would need evern more room.
