Two players cited following Tri-Nations match

Two players cited following Tri-Nations match
    23 August 2008 (Posted: 20:18)

CJ van der Linde of South Africa and Rocky Elsom of Australia were both cited for dangerous play following Saturdays Vodacom Tri-Nations match between South Africa and Australia in Durban on Saturday.

Elsom faces a SANZAR Disciplinary Committee hearing after being cited by Citing Commissioner Steve Hinds of New Zealand for tackling the jumper (Victor Matfield) in the air. Van der Linde was cited for striking Wallaby halfback Sam Cordingley with his head.

Both men will appear before judicial officer Nick Davidson QC (New Zealand) at the offices of the KwaZulu-Natal Rugby Union at 9am on Monday.

What about Steyn taking Mitchell out in the air...admittedly he seemed to do more damage to himself but that was far more dangerous

burger has major issues. was it smith in the ruck he decided to step on and punch and kick... just to get the ball? when time was OFF!? i was nearly in tears. that really wrecked the game for me

james was also a problem for me. all those high balls he was aiming to hurt not catch. dirty dirty play...

there was nothing in rocky's tackle. he should get off with nothing...

A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

it was just a disgusting thing to do. any normal person would have picked the ball up or taken it from the person. there is no need to throw punches around at anyone...

Bok number 2 would be cited for that headbutt on Cordingly, wasn't a shoulder charge. Schaulk Burger you are a twat, good justification for throwing punches lara............not. Schaulk is a brainless ugly caveman.

While their citing people, they should cite DeVilliers for being a useless coach and a puppet, and Victor Matfield for being an arguementative twat with no soul
