Considering how afraid of change some Perthites are it's the only way to get change to happen. Just think if Perth was full of free thinking people dedicated to progress, we would have a rectangular stadium by now without all this stuttering that has gone on at the moment.

I think you've got it the wrong way round there mate, to link the two issues given that daylight saving is being trialled now despite repeated public refusals to implement it would look more like us having an international standard fencing arena right now and the rectangular stadium being consigned to collect dust in perpituity, since nobody really gives a shit about fencing but there is consistent public pressure to build a rectangular stadium.
