    Wallabies ratings for the game

well i want to say it now before i forget

drew should have had more than 44 seconds. aac should be banned from wearing a 15 jumper ever again.
hynes made a few telling tackles, but otherwise i barely knew he was on the field!!
mortlock was average. he let that a MEGALY important tackle slip and all 210 now need hearing aids because of it.
barnes should have thrown wide instead of all those pointless kicks he did... honestly!
lote was more than alright.. that try was a good confidence booster i think. hope to see some more.. he was very dangerous tonight.
was gits even on the FIELD? i barely saw him...
burgess was throwing some really crazy passes out there... mind you, they all were!!!
    cliffy was great!!!
smith had an very good game no complaints really...
elsom was MOM all the way for me. incredible game that guy had...
sharpie was good at ball-running, but was outshone at lineout time.
horwill was not bad... not bad at all.
our front row suprised me actually. wasnt too bad to be honest...

bench- all got a run. all were reasonably good. some where barely on to TELL how they went... but still!

all in all it was a good game. nailbiting and great fun

A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

adam ashley cooper was probably the only player i cant see holding his spot.. too many errors ONCE again..

Gerrard or shep on one leg is better than AAC. 5 errors in the first half alone (one kick out on the full, one forward pass, one hospital pass for Barnes to be smashed and two knock ons)

Can someone describe to me why he is in the side for, when Gerrard had been playing full back for the brumbies all year, but still AAC still gets the 15.

i expect an unchanged team for the next test, unless Drew Mitchell is fully fit.

Palu, Smith and Elsom were the best on the feild. They caused heaps of turnovers and had some good runs.

    The defence was great.

Honestly I thought that AAC was going to be taken out at half time. I guess with Cross only really a centre they couldn't put Mitchell in that early in case an injury to a winger. But what was Deans thinking leaving AAC in the whole game??

Elsom and Smith were great. I thought Smith was more deserving of MOM but Elsom was still a good choice. Palu was better than his previous outings. Baxter and Robinson were pretty much invisible.

Burgess was useless. Again not sure why he didn't get taken off earlier. Cordingley should start next week. I think Burgess is just another alright player who can't perform in the hard matchs (like Palu). Burgess was useless against Ireland as well. And then against France he wasn't pushed much so played much better. Then another hard match last night and he sucks. Makes it impossible to grade the play of Barnes, Giteau etc...because Burgess was so bad.

gerrard was injured and hasnt played enough since...

the bloke is too slow, the forwards would beat him in a race

Yeah Gerrard is not an option. the only back three in Oz good enough and still fit at this point is 11 Lote, 14 Hynes, 15 Drew. AAC will need to sit the bench simply because nobody else is fit.....unless one of the under 20s make the grade, everything of enough quality has come from the A programme now.

Lachie might be ready next year!

    aac
dropped it cold a few times
but he also showed in some passages why he is currently starting for the wallabies
if he gets 15 next week
he has a point to prove

burges i thought he played well
he was very quick to ever breakdown
yes he throw a few ugly passes
his young - deal with it

hynes in my opinion played a blinder
he showed habana the sideline plenty of times
not many wingers have been able to do thisin recent times.

    nathan sharpe
    brillant game
    good meterage
    good at the breakdown
brilliant in the air spoiling matfield the worlds best a few times

    mortlock
good straight hard running - what you want at 13
was playing very well until surprise bothas shoulder connecting with his head at a breakdown

the most mature game berrick barnes has played in the green and gold
his tactical kicking game was second to non
i dont think many people realise after a kick off the second half he rolled his ankle
couldnt put any weight on it
he was in the arms of the physios then saw that that there was a counter on from the boks ran 40ms tackled someone turned the ball over
5m later slotted that drop goal
if you notice if you watch the game after he slots the drop goal he grimaces in pain

and he was brilliant at scrum time

al baxter. scrumaging he rose to the occasion
    straighting the attack numerous times

gustafls they are props they arent on the field to do anything flashing or spectacular

i should probably correct that... i said our front row wasnt bad because i was expecting them to be blown away by the boks and their two front rows.
but scrum time was not bad, so i didnt complain. i could jinx it otherwise...

sorry gagger i stole you title oops...

Well I didn't see it that way. I know we were pretty good at the breakdown. But I saw Elsom, Smith, Sharpe doing a lot more work there than Baxter and Robinson. But hey, that's just my view on it. I have no problem with your position on it. Often it is hard with forwards because they aren't doing the flashy things, unless you really watch for them you can easily miss them. And if they did have as good a game as you suggest, then perhaps I just missed them on this occasion.
