Can Force tackle kids cancer?

I was looking for a way to raise charity funds for the cancer ward at PMH. Most of you thankfully and hopefully will never ever see this place. I have spent the last 16 months in there with my nine year old son. I had a crazy idea and most of your draws will drop when you read this but bear with me.

Some European clubs have done this: For one game in the year they change the colours of the clubs top, most have gone, wait for it .... PINK!!!

The tops worn on the night by the players are auctioned after the game as well as having tin shakers at the game as well. All of clubs are now selling the one off jumpers in the clubs shop and in some clubs the top has out sold the original top. They are especially popular with the ladies. You see many women wearing the tops at the games still.

Now this is a forum so please take it easy on me it's just an idea. The charity is very close to my heart and probably something you have never given a second thought to. I was the same until I was dropped by the words "Your son has cancer". I swore I would do something to help the parents and kids going through what I have just been through and this idea did spring to mind.

well the force supported prostate cancer with the Shave Dave appeal this year so your idea isn't so crazy WRF.

im happy to support such a worthy cause as im sure may twf members would be ...

the Shave Dave appeal raised over $18000 for prostate cancer. if something can be organised with rugby WA this figure could be reached again ...

that is a REALLY good idea. i would buy a pink shirt and put some money in the box to see the force boys in a pink top no worries. im sure the force boys will wear a pink shirt for a game. thats a really good idea and you should go to rugbywa on that one.. im sure youll have some strong support for this kind of thing

Thanks for the positive response. As I sat next to his bed I wrote a series of eight childrens books about a boy "Bootsie" who plays rugby, (inspired by Connor). Penguin books in South Africa are reading it as we speak so fingers crossed they will publish it and I'll be donating some of the profits from each book into making the parents accomodation more bearable at PMH. If they take off Harry Potter style I'll build the rectangular stadium!!!
