    Cams Column - Post 3N5

    Cameron Shepherd, Wallabies fullback
    August 02, 2008 06:00pm

INJURED Wallaby and Western Force fullback Cameron Sharpe takes a look at the defeat by the All Blacks.
When the Kiwis came out a did the new haka you sensed something was going to happen.

They say they keep it for special occasions and they made sure it was special - for them.

All week there was talk about how they were going to come at us.

Sharpie (Nathan Sharpe) said they were going to be throwing everything at us including the kitchen sink. People had a bit of smile, but that's exactly what happened.

    the rest is here....new linkhttp://www.news.com.au/perthnow/stor...005401,00.html

I personally think the haka is a wank these days. Watching the white boys prance about and stick out their tongues is laughable.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Cameron Sharpe... that would be a super player! Combine the best of both worlds.

The haka is all well and good but at the end of the day a good song and dance doesn't put 39 points on the scoreboard...

Discovered last week that Kiwi's don't like it being called the Hokey-Pokey. They also don't like being told to 'put your left foot in, put your left foot out...'

    We renamed it the "chokey-pokey"

"you put your best team in, you pull your best team out (of super 14), you put your best team in and you lose a quarter final. You do the chokey-pokey and you lose a world cup, thats NZ Rugby is all about"

How the Wallabies managed to watch Ali Williams do the Haka while resisiting the urge to scream out "You're a pasty white-boy, Williams!", I don't know- I failed two or three times last night.
Seriously NZ, stick that boy up the back.

I like the haka, its tradional, its a spectacle and gets non rugby followers interested. Its about the challenge that has to be met to win respect.

If anythings tired and cringe inducing its the singing of Waltzing Matilda at Wallabies home games. I dont understand how a song about stealing sheep is supposed to invoke national pride ...

OI! I like Waltzing Matilda. On more than one occassion more people sing more of WM than the National Anthem.

I like the original Haka, it intimidating and its the real deal.

At regular games it's tired and cringe inducing; against the ABs following the Haka it's nothing short of ridiculous- Maori War Cry vs. Lee Kernagen/ Troy Casser-Daly????
