Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

OK, maybe bordering on generalisation, but not the first time I've heard of such hijinks inolving footy clubs either.

Life was just easier before I watched that 'Footy Girls' documentary- that was bloody freaky and paints female football fans in a particularly bad light!

They think they are invincible I'd suspect, being a proffessional sports player they would get thier ego stroked every day until they started believing the crap people started telling them...

They might get their ego stroked every day but does that compare to all the times they are completely and utterly shut down told their career is over, told they cant play for crap, they are poor role models, they are fat, they have drinking problems, they need to go to rehab etc etc etc

Honestly I'm pretty sure you wouldnt feel invincible after all that on a weekly basis!

I mean their ego stroked by those immediate to them, friends, managers, the public etc.

Alot of the criticism, I assume, would come from the media to try and sell papers, and although 100% the case I would argue that, as with actors, alot of sports players in the media eye often wouldn't even bother with the various crap people write to sell papers so I doubt it would affect them as much as the people constantly feeding them crap...

What else would be the reason, unless rape is a much larger societal problem that I originally thought.

A woman calling herself ‘Angel’ is beginning to lift the lid on the controversial incident involving four England players on their New Zealand tour.

The woman, who spent the night with an English player at Auckland’s Hilton Hotel last Saturday night, has revealed how four players stormed into the room the next morning and ripped the blanket off the bed she was sharing with the unnamed player.

It appears there has been another incident which the Auckland Police are currently investigating and ‘Angel’ says she was one of several women who met the players at a bar and accompanied them back to their hotel. Police say the ‘serious allegation’ relates to an incident during the early hours of Sunday morning.

England coach Rob Andrew (pictured) read a statement to media yesterday and said that the players had the full support of the squad and everyone was fully co-operating with the investigation.

The English touring squad is set to leave New Zealand on Sunday.

Given the "panty raid" version in the SMH, you'd wonder whether they actually sent their U20s to NZ.

Actually, given the various results, there might be something in that...

Doesn't that sell copy - drunken yobs, losing World cup finalist team lost to NZ, can't get a date etc..

Hope the allegation's in this story are unfounded (otherwise very bad for rugby sponsorship) - and the whole thing was just youthful high jinks - not quite my style or what I wish to see our team doing but..
