Dream come true for Cameron Shepherd

WESTERN Force fullback and PerthNow columnist Cameron Shepherd makes his first start in the Wallaby No 15 jumper against Ireland in Melbourne on Saturday.
THIS is something I've always dreamed about - starting at fullback for Australia.

It's where I want to make my mark as a footballer and hopefully I can string a few appearances together.

It's my eighth cap but all the rest have been starting on the wing or as a replacement on the wing so it's an exciting time.

There were a few hints that I might get the fullback spot during the week when I was in the team strategy meetings but I wasn't banking on anything.

Yeah - he is becoming very adept at this - but it's still got the raw edge of emotion which makes it seem real and get U caught up in the excitement - didn't realise it was his first start !

Wonder if they will let Brown Dog do the water - his time will come

I really hope he plays a blinder and locks down the full back jersey, he deserves it.

Really couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. Fingers crossed he relishes in the opportunity and knocks the socks off the Irish and cements his place as the starting fullback.

He didn't have a sensational world cup but his super14 form is always top notch.

Make it happen in the green and gold cam. We're all rooting for you.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

    BOKKE
“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White
