New York Athletic Club needed three overtime periods to defeat Belmont Shore(California - damn!) 31-28 in the USA Super League Finals Saturday. While the quality of play wasn't exactly Crusaders v. Waratahs, it was interesting that the match was televised live, nation-wide, on one of the ESPN networks. Also, it was played at a new, RUGBY ONLY facility in Colorado. And as a Californian, I have to protest New York's victory on the grounds that their best player (and Match Most Valuable Player) was an Australian!
