Couldn't see a list of committee members - specifically a Rugby Delegate anyone know - or are our worst fears about governance already well founded.

This link includes the people on the committee:

To be jointly chaired by Department of Sport and Recreation director general Ron Alexander and Office of Strategic Projects head Richard Mann, the 10-member committee includes several other high profile public servants, such as Under-treasurer Tim Marney and Department of Planning and Infrastructure director general, Eric Lumsden.

East Perth Redevelopment Authority chief Tony Morgan, Public Transport Authority CEO Reece Waldock, State Solicitor Tim Sharp, Department of Sport and Recreation policy adviser Michael Cutler, Department of Premier and Cabinet principal policy officer Paul Joyce and state architect Geoffrey London will also take seats on the new board.

So basically all public service, though the article goes on to say the WAFC has already appointed a bloke to 'liase' with the committee

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Hmm, Ron is AFL, Eric is a damn good planner (used to be my boss), Michael is a good bloke (have worked with him before) and Geoffrey London is good at the Architecture bit - anyone representing the end users, like rugby - the rectangular stadium - alarm bells fellas!! WAFC have done it again......

see the comment at that link. part of it is "The only code with a voice seems to be the WAFL - what about rugby and soccer, particularly rugby union. Lets see some true sense of accountability to the taxpayers take place and some democracy at work with fair representation on the Steering committee."

    Onya Annette from Northbridge!

edit: from the article: "Mr Abery, who will liaise with the steering committee on behalf of the WAFC, is a director of listed internet kiosk operator, pieNETWORKS Ltd.". Theres the rugby involvement. Grumbles.

Tim Sharp is a damn good solicitor but unfortunately a huge AFL supporter. I've worked with him before. He is very aware though of the complaints regarding the stadium but i'd say he wouldn't have much sway on that front even if he did take our view. He'll be looking at contractual issues and environment and planning legal stuff

Paul Joyce I'm sorry is a moron. I have a friend who works for him.

Nice bit of stadium-related snark on Ch7 footy telecast today. They were talking about how running one way you'd have the sun in your eyes and this exchange followed:

Bloke 1: Well we won't have to worry about that at when the new stadium is built.
Bloke 2: Yeah our grandkids might get to enjoy it too

Looks like someone's wary of death by committee!

(sorry, don't know who was commentating the footy, was watching while doing the ironing)
