That makes no logical sense. It's AUSTRALIAN rules football. It's like American rules football; people in other countries either don't care, don't understand, or find it very hard to adapt to the game.

Honestly, go to theroar.com.au and read some of 'The Crowd' articles about AFL. There is a group of 3 or 4 rabid AFL supporters that honestly try to put across the view that it is the next big thing....going on about some US competition with 32 teams and various plans on how to conquer the world....and if someone critisizes them and says it won't happen, well watch out, your going to be attacked, good for a laugh.

My thoughts on the whole Kitchener Park thing and the fact that Blind Freddy can see that the 'operable' seating won't be 'operated' for a game are well known, I don't need to air them here (again!)
I reckon it's going to be a huge body blow for Rugby in WA if we were to play 6-7 seasons at an upgraded ME- everyone will be used to the good views afforded by the rectangle and proximity to the sidelines. I personally think the atmosphere would be fantastic there- all the passion supporters have at Subi, without the 20000 empty seats around them. And then what? Even in rectangular form, Kitchener Park will be half-empty once again, and the nearest person is 15m from the sidelines again (which we're supposed to be happy about, since it's not 30m like Subi??)
Moving from a crap stadium to another crap stadium, I'm inclined to bitch and moan. Moving from a decent rugby venue to a crap stadium and I'll be ready to organise the RIOT with No 8.

If they increase capacity at MES to 25,000, that would mean the 17-18,000 members would have GREAT seats, plus allow 7-8000 seats for promo, public etc. SFS holds 35,000 - and Sydney is nearly 4 times the size of WA. Our membership warrants a dedicated 25,000 seat stadium. Not a new one. Just redo the thexisting one as Dr Wake Up Geoff promised. MES is the only solution to keep rugby people happy. Once the idiots in State Government realise this, then maybe we have a chance.
