It's not a mad notion Jedi, you all fall into one of these first four.

    You shouldnevergive blood if:

1: You carry the hepatitis B virus, the hepatitis C virus or the HIV virus.

2: You're a man who's had sex with another man, even safe sex using a condom.

    3: You've ever worked as a prostitute.

4: You've ever injected yourself with drugs - even once.

You should not give blood for
    12 months after sex with:

1: A man who has had sex with another man (if you're a female).

    2: A prostitute.

3: Anyone who has ever injected themselves with drugs.

4: Anyone with haemophilia or a related blood clotting disorder who has received clotting factor concentrates.

5: Anyone of any race who has been sexually active in parts of the world where AIDS/HIV is very common. This includes countries in Africa.

Listen mate - I ate a bleedin burger - it was a nice burger lots of gerkins - I do admit to paying for it but it was McDonalds and there were lots of other people watching - to the best of my knowledge the burger was not self injecting itself with any drugs (illegal or otherwise). I was foolish and did not ask the burger what it's sexual preference was and whether or not it had to pay for its sexual favours or indeed if it was used to getting paid for sexual favours - to be honest I just couldn't wait to get my teeth into those soft buns.

12 years on - I am still classed as a person who may be a MAD COW - now don't all agree at once - but after 12 years - I and millions of others (56 million people live in England and they are not all vegetarians) have not fallen to the ground, foaming at the mouth with Crojen Jacobs Disease - to the best of my knowledge not many people have got this disease - in the meantime they are running all sort of promotions over here telling us to donate blood. It's insane - it's almost dare I say MAD.

How do I tell my children that there mother is a MAD COW and is liable to fall down in the street at any minute - 12 and half years after eating a McDonalds Burger - the shame it has brought upon us is to much to bear - the bit that got me is that I having had a couple of trips to the hospital over here to have babies and things and never once on the Medical Multiple Choice thing was the question asked (you know the one you say no to everything you never heard off because honestly anyone who said yes probably wouldn't be able to tick the box) - should I have told the midwife ?
