force moves to replace henjak......possibly with chris o'young

    in todays sunday times.

the western force is chasing its former halfback chris o'young, a strong indication the club expects to lose the controversial matt henjak......inquiries about getting o'young back from glasgow warriors began just hours before the forces season opener in durban.......

i did notice that o'young wasnt playing in the scarlets vs warriors game yesterday on satanta scarlets won 30-7....

He's usually on the bench playing second fiddle to Sam Pinder. I wouldn't have thought Glasgow would be able to pay that much more for a halfback than the Force and if Henjak was to go the prospect of being a dead cert starter would go down quite well with O'Young. You can't blame him for having left Mitchell selected Henjak no matter how badly he played in 2006.

Adam Clarke, a back up half back to Henjak, sustained a season ending neck injury in early January, and a process to secure a replacement was commenced some time ago. The ARU has been assisting in this process.

Yeah, I saw that one too Coach.....he was worth the effort wasn't he?

Chrisso would be a top option assuming the blood wasn't too bad upon his departure, He's got the experience with the boys, and has played S14 level before. Hope it doesn't cost too much, because at the moment, he'd be selected as a backup to Henners (until, God forbid, Henners is sacked) Possibly a commitment to take his place during any suspension, and the opportunity to show his abilities might be enough. If Chrisso is sure he's better, he should jump at a chance to keep him off the pitch!

surely NSW could work something out with the Force to lend them Josh Valantine for the season or something.

Australia has a massive shortage on halfbacks at the moment.

NSW would do anything to get rid of Valentine apparently.....when will they realise we want a halfback who can handle the pressure of professional rugby

Are you having a laugh sunshine? NSW do anyone else a favour hahahahahaha. The only reason Valentine isn't playing for the Waratahs ATM is so that the bitchy little NSW powerbrokers have someone to shine their shoes. God forbid their shoes get dirty.

I think we have a massive shortage in a lot of positions but primarly Scrum-half and Hooker. They are just two positions where you need three players in a squad in case of injuries because there are always 2 in the 22. In a few years though with all young talent we have like Holmes, Genia, Sua etc we should have a fair bit more depth. Likewise with hookers.

I guess the reason is that Gregan had such a lead on the opposition that even under John Connolly he was named the unquestioned Wallaby halfback (and we all remember what good mates Knuckles and George were don't we!)...People just wouldn't see a lot of opportunity to play for the Wallabies......What are the stats on Aussie halfbacks playing OS?

No, they said that they wanted O'Young back as Clarke is injured...but O'Young is under the impression he will be first choice, we are just using that perception to our advantage, no matter what actually happens to Henners.
