I still think race and family are too things that should never be used against anyone during a game of cricket... or anywhere for that matter.

But the Indians having a go at Hogg for using the word bastard is just laughable. It's in our everyday, colloquial language. Calling someone a monkey when that person had been offended by the same comment only weeks before, is a deliberate attempt to create conflict and he really just should have known better.

If the Indians are going to suspend the tour unless the suspension is overturned then they can bugger off. No team has the right to control umpire selections and it just smacks of... well it has a certain blackmail or extortion feel. I don't like it one bit!

Would have liked to have been able to go to the test match in Perth though.

Not sure how you could draw that inference, Burgs. What I wrote means the exact opposite. But, like I said the choice is personal. I'd imagine it's somewhere in between for most people. If you're absolutely sure of what happened you fess up. If not you stand your ground and leave it to the umpires.
