Eales backs Deans as Wallabies coach

Being serious tho, I suppose I haven't said a lot about why I think Nucifora should get a shot except to say that his record is second only to Deans among the applicants, admittedly a long second. But he's a proven winner at ACT, even under the most trying of circumstances. He's done well at Auckland AND learned a lot of inside info about the NZRU systems. IMHO the fact that he's Australian SHOULD count second to his being a great coach.

Well.....Yeah, but so should performance.

I guess the difficulty we're in is that the best person to elicit that performance isn't the best person from a National Pride point of view. Nucifora is DEFINITELY the next best person from a quality coaching point of view. I just think that Deans is light years ahead (humbly) and that is going to make either appointment controversial.

To be totally honest, I'd be happy for Nucifora, given that Deans will NOT be coaching the All Blacks, that's a much better situation than I was expecting a week ago!

I fully support your choices mate, wish Nucifora made the grade, but the reality is more than likely deans has it, so i have resigned myself to that...
But i will say, i couldn't care less who is coaching when we are winning, which is something i would like to see more of...I bet the South Africans couldn't care less that eddie jones was part of the coaching staff when they won the world cup, that is how i would view itanyway, a means to an end... really...
