No positive dope tests at World Cup means no room for Ben!

    AAA

The tournament's anti-doping programme recorded 212 Tests, including urine and blood samples, and no positive results have been revealed by laboratory analysis so far, the IRB said.

Four samples were taken at each of the matches staged in France, Edinburgh and Cardiff while there was also an out-of-competition programme of tests for the first time in the tournament's history.

"The Rugby World Cup 2007 Anti-Doping program was the largest of its kind for a rugby tournament and proved to be a massive success," the IRB's anti-doping manager Tim Ricketts said in a statement.

He said the samples would be stored at the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) accredited laboratory in Paris until a test for human growth hormone became available.

Doping at the Tour de France
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tour_de_France#Doping

Allegations of doping have plagued the Tour almost since its beginning in 1903. Early Tour riders were said to have consumed alcohol and used ether, among other substances, as a means of dulling the pain of competing in endurance cycling. As time went by, riders began using substances as a means of increasing performance rather than dulling the senses, and organizing bodies such as the Tour and the International Cycling Union (UCI), as well as government bodies, enacted policies to combat the practice.

On July 13, 1967, British cyclist Tom Simpson died climbing Mont Ventoux following use of amphetamines, complicated by the now defunct practice of drinking as little as possible. His now-supposed last words, "put me back on my bike", were invented by Sid Saltmarsh of the British magazine "Cycling" and the daily paper "The Sun".[19]

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Time will tell, may have been a massive failure if it didn't pick up something they find later on.

I think we should request ADSA to publish annual report on ALL sports in Australia.
no need for names or teams, just how many test (in and out of season) done and how many were positive or negative.
Then we'd see that the vast majority of athletes are acutally clean.
Also, if these simple stats were published governing bodies would then have a better idea of how their sport compares.

One thing you would see is that (my guess) weight lifting and cycling lead the tables.
