The Ascent of the Front Rows

In a stunning display of strength and agility that, surely, would have left naturalist David Attenborough in a spin, those mysterious beasts known as the (Emirates Western Force) front row have defied their own great weight and scaled great heights in...The Ascent of the Front Rows.

Seeing is believing, so click here.

It's all part of the Emirates Western Force pre-season training program, where the players partake in different activities to keep things interesting and, at the same time, develop certain targetted strengths.

If you thought Troy Takiari was graceful with his crouch, touch, pause, say hi to mum, engage...then wait until you see him scale an indoor climbing wall.

    Heights are scared of AJ...

Hey TIF, hard to tell from the footage, has Pek been doing weights or pies?
    He's looking considerably bigger here!

I noticed on the online West Australian report of the climbing excursion they listed Pek Cowan as a hooker. Imprecise reporting or is something up there? I'm sure he'd make a pretty good hooker and wouldn't be too young to start. But I suppose the Australian team needs quality looseheads over hookers and the boys a good prospect.

I'm not disagreeing that the need for loose head is more desperate than the need for a hooker, but I'd suggest any Wallaby Front Rower would be a bit sweaty about his position for next year after the World Cup! Tai and Holmesey for Gold Jerseys next year!

It was an impressive site - all the blokes were puffing and panting after just 2 climbs, but 20 climbs later they were still going hard. The staff were might impressed also...
