Fair enough to call those knocked out in the group stages 'minnows' but a bit disrespectful calling a fellow quarter-finalist.....I guess this means the Wallabies are minnows!!!!

It's not often a Scotsman will stick up for the English but JO'N & JC brought a lot of this on themselves with the 'sledging' during the run-up to the game - talk about giving the opposition extra motivation.

Shasta, two quick points;

1) I am not suggesting that the free market in the NH has anything to do with "goodness of anyones heart"..................
do you really think I am so niave not to realise that? . I do not think however it improves the national game in the NH and that is the "sacrifice" or "contribution" I see the NH making which despite what others are claiming above is not how the SH operates.

When you use words such as "sacrifice" and "contribution" you are inferring some type of altruistic generosity on behalf of the NH clubs in contracting and development of 2nd and 3rd tier plaayers. Even if you later claim different.

Like I said that proposition is laughable and is merely a reflection of the amounts of money available to European clubs for player contracts. It should have no influence whatever over the way the ARU conducts it's business. The pool of money available in the SH is very definately limited therefore things must be run in the best interests of our situation.

It would be a truly sad day for international rugby if they got kicked out of the tournament. They have every right to be there too! It's the passion in which you play your rugby that counts, not the size of your bank account!
