Rod Blake weighs around 130kg and is very mobile for that weight I think a player like him will never be done away with. If they want to scrum he can scrum and if they want to draw in a few defenders he's there.

I wouldn't be worried about losing props, they will just have to become slightly more multi-faceted but hey doesn't that suit us? Both the Wallabies and the Force play props who aren't the best scrummagers but are great around the field. Teams will often need to drive the ball forward a bit by giving the ball to the fatties to bust out around the ruck.

Guessing that Sanzar will accept the new ELVs esp New Zealand and Australia as their ability to turn out internationally large sized props and hookers has diminished - and the Aussies will still be sore after losing to the English Front Row !

Read an article in the Herald tribune saying that all 4 quarter final teams won't /couldn't/ wasn't able to /was afraid of conceding penalties by attacking or going for tries - whilst being a slightly cynical interpretation of events this journos viewpoint wasn't unique - spectators are confused by penalties and it does make them feel like they can't watch a game knowing all the rules - slight change is needed to attract/retain more spectators.

If the Aussies get in early then they have more chance of winning.
AJ had some cracking games with the ELVs would be interested in his opinion
Really worried by the ELV injury toll - seemed higher than normal - maybe I just cared more about the players !

Yeah the injury situation was a thought I'd had over a much longer and physical tournament like the Super 14 but I figure after a year or so players will adapt to the different playing style and the injuries will drop.

There werer also a lot of guys 'stepping up' a level in the ARC, this often results in injuries both to them and the guys around them (just having to go into things harder than you ever have can make them do things in an unusual way for a while)
