Full-strength Namibia look for first win

AUBAGNE, 25 September - Namibia coach Hakkies Husselman has picked what he says is his best available team to play Georgia on Wednesday, a match they have long targeted as their most likely to post their first IRB Rugby World Cup victory.

There are still a few minor injuries to clear up before Husselman is certain of his team, but he remains confident they will be ready for the match at Stade Felix Bollaert in Lens. The Georgians are also searching for their first win in a world cup.

"We are still waiting for news on TC (Tertius Losper), Heino (Senekal) - who both have minor leg injuries - and Wacca (Kazombiaze). If everyone is ready it will be the number one Namibia team. Overall it is the best side on the field," he said.

Prop Kees Lensing is back to captain the side after being rested for the match against Argentina and he forms an experienced front row with fellow prop Marius Visser and hooker Hugo Horn. All three play professional club rugby in South Africa.

Cup success hangs on win

Lensing feels the result of the match could be the difference between a good or bad world cup for Namibia.

"To come off this world cup successfully we have to win, otherwise I will be very disappointed with the tournament," he said.

Also back to bolster the forwards are flanker Jacques Nieuwenhuis (from a one-match suspension) and second row Senekal (if passed fit), in a match forwards coach John Williams feels will be decided up front.

"This is where the game will be won and lost. We need to get our guys up for the game and they (Georgia) will do the same," Williams said.

If fit, Losper starts at fly half where he was supposed to play against Argentina before he aggrivated a leg injury. If Losper does not heal in time Morne Schreuder will wear the number 10 jersey, as he did against Argentina.

Centre Corne Powell, who returned from injury for the Argentina match, continues at centre where he will partner Piet van Zyl, one of three Namibia try-scorers at RWC 2007.
