Had a look around - but no luck Burgs
Maybe after the 760odd and the 1011, they don't bother giving us crowds for Carrara any more??

Yeah, whatever it is I can't imagine it is going to help the averages!
    Pretty disapointing figures there.
Ballymore weren't done any favours with their draw either having only just played their second home match.

the Spirit have had a few decent crowd figures though, although the waether in Perth of late hasnt really helped the cause. What was our highest for the season?? Over 5,000 i think (correct me if i'm wrong)

No, Melbourne actually with 4081, but they have only had two matches and their first was after getting an away victory in Round 1.
With all matches completed Spirit have had more total people watch them at home though and overall we should be able to claim 100k by the end of the Finals. 67k at the moment, plus the missing fixture above.

Weather, shmeather, its the Mickey Mouse timing of the comp that's the problem. Fancy holding it during club finals and the start of RWC!

So what are we looking at, 8 to ten weeks? Bring the club season forward two weeks and do without the universal byes for test matches and the other one the reason for which escapes me. Play on Sunday if the test is on Saturday (sorry about that Mormons - too bad).

Start the ARC mid August, finish mid October.

    Is that too hard?

RWC is every four years. In those years start club season start of March with night fixtures on Fri and Sat for first two weeks. Force the bludger clubs to instal adequate lighting or play at venues where it exists. They will have four years to plan for it and RugbyWA can help them financially if need be.Bring ARC forward.

Or dare I say, start RWC two weeks later? Why would that be a problem-this issue is not just WA's but in all states and SA and NZ as well.

Sorry Burgs, not having a go at you, I've been raging about this all season.

Oh hell no! That would mean that the boys in the southern hemisphere would have been playing/training consistently since Jan. It is hard enough keeping momentum (not to mention preventing injury) throughout the super 14, then pretty much straight into the tri nations and bledisloe and then pretty much into a World Cup. Delaying it gives you not enough time to take a break but probably too much time to try and retain that enthusiasmn and intensity.

I'm not so convinced that the crowd attendance has much to do with the Cup. I for one was so excited that first weekend of the World Cup given that my weekend went a little like this: 2am Opening Ceremony, 3am France vs Argentina, 11am Club Match, 1pm ARC match, 3pm Club Match, 9:30pm Aust vs Japan, 11:30pm NZ vs whoever they played....not to mention the drinking in between...couldn't think of a better way to spend a weekend

problem is that a lot of us have wives and kids that arent into rugby as much as we are, so we have to pick our viewing times carefully.
No offence to the ARC guys but a 1pm Game on a saturday serious damages my chances of watching them.
