Folks
Can anyone tell me who's wise idea it was to ensure that the Western Force wore their yellow and black "away strip" against the Chiefs (who were also in yellow, black and red jerseys)?
Is it essential for teams to HAVE to wear their "away jersey" when they are away from home?
I am certainly not alone in thinking that the spectacle could have been improved if the Force were able to wear their UNIQUE Blue strip in contrast to the Chiefs normal strip...
Not rocket science but common sense IMHO...![]()

I prefer the yellow and black away kit.
The blue one should be the away kit.
My opinion anyway, it's like an arsehole, everyone's got one. Incidentily mine is broken, it's got a crack in it.
Marketing dear chap
One must gets the punters to buy two jerseys. If you don't wear the away strip, nobody buys it. Double your retailing. It helps pay for loyal players like Gits

Fair point re the marketing aspect (and that can still be achieved)... however, (if my memory still serves me correctly) in NZ last year the Force wore their Blue strip against the yellow and black strip of the Hurricanes... so where is the consistency?
I would think that a sensible way to go is for the away team to elect to wear their away strip on a case by case basis - with the best intentions of ensuring that the maximum visual value for the viewing audience (and ref) is taken into account first?
The Hurricanes are yellow. They push it wherever possible. The reason is in the retailing vans at Subi. The Force marketing is pretty poor. Where's the plastic Force players? Where's the Gits voo doo dolls? The opportunities are only limited by the dunces in control of the Farce.

They are not "away jumpers" they are an "alternate jumper" to be used when there is a "clash" with the home team. I would say they only took the yellow ones away for the three weeks.

It will be interesting to see what they wear this weekend - corresponding match two years ago they wore blue.

Alex Ferguson of Man Utd infamy once used the colour of their clash jerseys as the reason for a poor performance, perhaps we should do the same if last weeks performance becomes a habit!
"Sea of Gold" may be a little more...palatable
I especially prefer the latest version of the Gold strip over the blue colour, though the current blue version is probably my preferred version of that one too...

"Sea of Gold" doesn't make much sense. "Golden Pond" perhaps, but probably not that demographically correct. "Ring of Gold" perhaps? (but opens up all sorts of opportunities for smarmy journalistic devices such as the recent transposition of "ire" for "fire")
