Membership renewals have all been sent out for Diamond, Gold, Silver and Supporter memberships and Nickel and Iron have just started hitting the postoffice as at last night.
We'll shortly have a pretty good idea where we will all be sitting (or standing) for next year, but is it going to be any better?
As most regulars here know - I've been attempting to draw up some seating maps so that we can compare notes and let others know where we'll be sitting. You can find a seating chart for the upgraded Members Equity Bank Stadium here.
TWF members can also enter in your block number in your user profile here ("Where do you sit (stand!) at Members Equity?")
I went over the images of Subiaco oval and Members Equity Bank Stadium and re-drew them from scratch base on satellite images courtesy of www.nearmap.com.
The following image is an overlay of MES over Subi, this is pretty accurate. Please note that only the first 'ring' of blocks (the ones that start with a '1') are to scale - upper tier blocks are obscured by the roof at Subi. Given that pretty much ALL of MES fits within this first ring, I'm sure you won't mind.
The Members Equity diagram has been rotated about 90 degrees - you've probably working it out by now, the the Block Letter in the seating allocation represents it's location at the ground, E = EAST, W=WEST, S=SOUTH.
As it stands now, all Nickel and Iron seats are in the Family Stand - which is an Alcohol Free area However - applications are in to have this area changed to allow alcohol consumption.
Additionally, there will be areas around the stand where you may stand and drink without fear of security personel asking that you move on. This will be the case for other parts of the grounds also. You can also expect more places to be able to buy beers around the ground.
So even if the applications are denied by some facist government department, all is not lost.
Here's to next season!
BTW - limited tickets left for the Western Force -v- Queensland Reds pre-season trial match at Members Equity on the 5th February 2010. Register your interest here. I'll likely be calling for confirmations and money after Christmas.
