Yeah, gotta be some changes in backline. Are you listening and reading JMitchell ? The guys above have covered some very good options.

i agree he is good in the centres but with ryan cross and giteau it will be very hard to get a spot.
i agree with your team burgs that would be good but i think it will be
    9.henjak
    10.hilgendorf
    11.mitchell
    12.giteau
    13.cross
    14.staniforth
    15.shepard

but i hope he gets a go at 12/13 in the game maybe a half.

Yeah, I agree Goldmember, I really don't rate Gits at #10 in comparison to his unquestionable ability at either #9 or #12.
The team is listed that way as I couldn't be bothered with the barrage of posts if I had him at #9 or #20!
In my view, Stanners is unquestionably our best #12, Hilgendorf is our best #10 and Henjak is getting back to his true worth, but where does that leave the million dollar man!?
I am grateful that he is playing for us rather than against us but in terms of developing a team, the "buying" of Gits has had serious implications to the ongoing building that was started due to injuries in '06.
The combination of Jimmy and Stanners remains our best balance for the inside backs and then it's a matter of who should be the scrumhalf and, to me, that should be Gits.

yea i think your right about giteau is not a 5/8 and hilgendorf is the best but giteau is the best 12 by far. i think they should start playing him there we are lucky to have him. when you have the walibies inside center you should play him there not stuff around with him. i do hope stanners gets a go and giteau maybe moves to fly half for a bit it might confuse the tahs and they wont know whats comming

I also think Staniforth is our best #12, but only because he is bigger. Giteau is also a clever player and enjoys being closer to his forwards. Maybe scrum half is Giteau's ideal position because he hates to be too far from the action? Perhaps a "player rotation strategy" is in order to protect from injury and give all of the players as go?

Here's what I would try anyway:

    9. Giteau (rotate with Henjak)
    10. Hilgendorf
    11. Mitchell
    12. Staniforth (rotate with Giteau)
    13. Cross
    14. Stapleton
    15. Shepherd (rotate with Mitchell)

I think that it is interesting that this whole discussion has been started by McKenzie as a stir up before this weeks game. Just because McKenzie mentions that he thinks!!!!! that Stanners is going to play inside centre this week, the press has grabbed onto this statement and run.

Stanners was only asked the question because McKenzie raised it. I don't think that anything that McKenzie says is relevant to the team the Force will pick. He is just running diversionary tactics with the press.

All that said, Stanners looked desperate on Sat night to get into the action more. I also think that he is better value to us in the centres than outside Cross. But all that matters is what John thinks not McKenzie!

Don't let the opposition change our thinking.......

Totally agree re Link Mambo, and I haven't, the pre season threads will show me naming my prefered lineups with Stanners at #12.
