John Eales Reveals: Leaders in Rugby

Anyone watched this on the Discovery Channel yesterday? Apparently it was good stuff. Don't know why people bother giving me a heads up a day after the event (screening) . Will search for the replay..

Airdate: John Eales Reveals: Leaders in Rugby
By David Knox on October 8, 2011

Former rugby union player John Eales hosts a documentary that looks at leadership themes through the eyes of elite leaders in world rugby including All Blacks Captain Richie McCaw, former All Blacks Captain David Kirk, former Wallabies Captain Michael Lynagh, former Wallabies coach Rod MacQueen, former England Captain Martin Johnson and former Springbok Captain Francois Pienaar.

Through in-depth interviews and archive footage John Eales Reveals: Leaders In Rugby investigates and deconstructs the essence of leadership and what it takes to win. This special looks deeper than the sporting triumph or methods as it unearths the individual’s ideas, feelings, motivators and outcomes on a quest to uncover lessons in outstanding leadership.

JohnEales Reveals: Leaders In Rugby will have its world premiere in Australia and New Zealand on Wednesday October 19 at 9.30pm.

Former Wallabies Captain, John Eales AM said of his involvement with the documentary, “I have always been curious about what makes a leader and the leader’s role in a team’s success. Interviewing several rugby union greats in this documentary has enabled me to delve even further into the art of leadership and has revealed some surprising lessons and insights for us all. I am thrilled to be working with Discovery Channel on John Eales Reveals: Leaders in Rugby as it has given me the opportunity to learn and share my experience and knowledge with a like-minded audience.”

Mandy Pattinson, Senior Vice President andGeneral Manager, Australia and New Zealand, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific said of the exclusive documentary, “We are absolutely delighted to work with John on John Eales Reveals: Leaders in Rugby. As a sporting legend who has captained the Wallabies and participated in two World Cup victories, John Eales has a wealth of expertise which allows him to effortlessly tackle the extensive topic of leadership with his interview subjects. As an exceptional leader in his own right, his involvement offers local appeal and unique insights for our audience.”

Wednesday October 19 at 9.30pm on Discovery.
