Former Wallaby Scott Staniforth's signing to the Emirates Western Force brings the number of players the Force have bought back to Australia to 4. Joining James Hilgendorf, Dave Pusey and John Welborn, Scott is reversing the trend of elite Australian players having to move off shore in order to further thier game.
He is the 33rd and final player to join the Emirates Western Force.
Welcome Aboard Scott!
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Scott will be a great source of experience for the Force and I imagine would be a 1st XV selection if fit.
In addition to the names you mention Coach, as a consequence of the formation of the fourth franchise we have seen the return to Australia of Mark Connors (Northampton, England & Japan), Sam Cordingley (Swansea, Wales & Grenoble, France), Dan McKellar (Wicklow, Ireland) to Queensland and the probable deferment of several more senior players leaving Australia to chase the superannuation dollars in Europe and Japan.
The proposed return of Toutai Kefu from Japan would not have even been considered without the extra starting positions created by the fourth team.
Great to be able to finally know what the full Force squad is and excellent that the final spot was able to be filled by an experienced player.
