RA Has received 14.2 Million from World Rugby, will the 1.8 Million Dollar reduction be enough to send them to the wall?

Look, let's face it, Australia isn't big enough to host two codes of rugby.

Lets put the past behind us. Let's move on in the pursuit of the betterment of the greatest game on Earth.

I'm talking amalgamatiom. You know it makes sense.

Unify the codes. Adjust the Rules.

Let the firebrang League administration run the show. Completely. They have the Track record. They know how to make and handle money. They don't carry the record of maladministration and the stenxh of corruption Rugby Australia does.

Union players will smooth out the rough edges of the Mungo players.Civilize and refine them.Turn them, into gentlemen, instead of remaining boofheaded bogans all their lives. Give them a chance in life they otherwise may never have after Rugby.

This will mean a lot to the Mungos.

As I said, tweak the rules.

Play the game - League and Union strictly in accordance with the Rules of Rugby Union.

Everybody gets the best of both worlds. Good Administraion and a decent game to play.

    Win - win.

    No thanks.
    It makes no sense.
The only common links is the shape of the ball and both have "rugby" in the title of the sport.

Rugby Union already has Rugby 7s which is already very close to Rugby League.

How can it be a loan when RA has no ability to pay it back?

They won’t get a payment from the IRB in 2023 for compensating loss of revenue.

It was nice of Roger Davis to speak on everyone’s behalf.

I'm sure Kurtly Beale, Karmichael Hunt, Latrell Mitchell and a few others can teach the Union boys how to behave..

Well lookit that. Malcolm Knox agrees with the Oracle of Palmyra - well almost.

Even if it is the umpteenth time some journo has regurgitated the same crap to solve an episode of writer's block and meet his editor's deadline......

Why it makes sense for union and league to merge
    - Malcolm Knox

Rugby Australia should be congratulated for its initiative in changing the rules for its upcoming domestic competitions. It is proposing a 50/22 rule to reward creative kicking, goal-line dropouts when an attacking player is held up or a defender grounds the ball in-goal, and sin-binning as an alternative to the tick-paralysis of red cards.

P.S. This is not a fishing expedition. Not enough fish around here these days.

50/22 and goal line dropout in Rugby, no thanks to both.

I think RL might be heading towards it's own unforeseen problems with their latest tinkering - blowout scores. I've enjoyed the up-tempo play and it seems they are on track to limit "The Wrestle". But they haven't addressed the law change that brought it about. Changing from a 5 meter off-side line to 10. Careful what you wish for.

    Bloody media hacks.

I gave this Knox clown his instructions for the article and he still managed to stuff it up.

X - I'll give it a go.....To fix RA's finances - keep it simple and grow the game FROM THE GRASSROOTS.

This will need a reset and move away from the current debacle.
I suggest in Australia it's going to get worse before it gets better.
Will the current SR franchises even continue to exist in 2021???
Give the Wallabies coach the freedom to select players from anywhere where rugby is played.
(Request players who want to be available for selection to write Wallabies availability into their contracts).

Lower the sights, aim for success, focus on timezones, reduce the amount/cost of travel, don't try and fix everybody's problems, slow and steady growth from the grass roots, seek more corporate sponsorship from those who love rugby, professional game managed by professionals not amateurs with conflicting/vested interests, ensure that media coverage is readily accessible and affordable.

We should be very thankful for Minderoo's support of the game in WA.

During the NRL commentary last night they spoke of a player going to The Queensland Reds next year and weather or not that was good move, and if the Super Rugby would even exist next year and backed it up with "not that anything has been said" and we know what that means, it's like have the full support of the board.
