61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
looks like a tough start, but the boys have always done OK in RSA and correct me if I'm wrong didn't we beat those 3 teams in 2007 ?
Lost to the Lions by a point but beat the other two.
should be a good test of character for the boys

Shouldn't the Red's be an AWAY Game?
7 home games again.........SWEET!![]()
I actually don't think this schedule is anythign to worry about. Everyone has to make the trip to Africa and New Zealand. Going to Africa for week 1 is probably the best time to go as they can get down there early and get set up rather then head there in week 2 or 3 and have a short time there before teh games. And from my recollection of this season didn't the Brumbies and Chiefs and Crusaders all get off to slow starts? If the Force can come out of those first six games with 3 wins and maybe a couple bonus points then I'd say there a good shot at the finals with all those Home games to go.
TG doubled checked and according to THE WEST the REDS is a home game - would have thought it was an away unless it is a typo - but that was a nice home game this year so here's hoping !

hard way to start best way to finish
Dunno about exclusive - you can get to the fixtures for the next 3 years from the fixtures section on the front page or here:

Reds game is meant to be an away match?
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
Reds is away for sure.
80 Minutes, 15 Positions, No Protection, Wanna Ruck?
Ruck Me, Maul Me, Make Me Scrum!
Education is Important, but Rugby is Importanter!
The Reds will be an away game...maybe the West viewed away as outside Australia??
The way the draw works is that next year is the inverse of last year. It will be tough, no question, but I'm sure that is why Mitchell has the finals as the target - the lads will have to earn it. Any way you cut it, early wins will be crucial as evidenced by the consequences this year of dropping a couple of soft games early. It will all be necessary experience for the target of home finals and a competition win in 2009 though, as this is probably our most benign draw (again, the inverse of this year).
Maybe the reds are doing a "Nth Melbourne". Playing a home game here so they can get a good gate.![]()
But it must be a typo. There's 6 home matches one year and seven the next with 14 clubs in the comp. Our turn for 6![]()
As for the report:
"Those not on Wallabies duty will be put on individual programs in a fortnight when they return from leave" - well deeerrrr...I'd be gobsmacked if they are not already on individual programs with tailor made KPIs. Anyone seriously think Henjak and Whalley are on the same weights program? Please.
It will be interesting to see what joy they have shifting the pre-season game against the Crusaders to Perth. I'm sure Melbourne was chosen because it was a nominal halfway point between the teams, but the Crusaders would almost treat it as a home game too - thay have mooted the idea of playing S14 matches there because of the revenues. I don't know how the revenue from the pre-season game is split, but there will no doubt need to be some negotiation on that point. Might still be worth it though, as the crowd here would be fairly good you'd expect.
