Indeed, quietly wondering/hoping it signifies an intent for some future level of involvement.

Listening to Hodgo in that interview at halftime in the Newcastle/Force game about new possible teams. A Japanese side seem still a strong possibilty in 2021, with Newcastle and Western Sydney getting a mention. Then even India and elsewhere in 2022.

Hodgo mentioned Kayo and RugbyPass streaming the games. The guys from that PubRugby were also pushing themselves.

RugbyPass at US$49 per year could be a better option than Kayo at Aus$25 p/m then.

Possibly, but I have enjoyed some of the other spots I've found on kayo, so the best solution IMHO is fox not paying ra

RugbyPass would be a much better fit for GRR. Global for a start, whereas Kayo is mainly focused on the Australian Market. A combination of Rugby Pass and free to air partner would be ideal. Or at least advertising on free to air.

Foxtel is bleeding money and while Kayo as their alternative streaming option is gaining traction it still making big losses and isn't as technically good as Optus Sport. I personally think Optus Sport would be a great fit for rugby. It has been incredibly successful in getting the Premier League rights in Australia and the app is much better than Kayo.

I thought the point was that GIGS knew this, and wanted Fox to not get the Super rights so his money isn't going to an entity with both Super and GRR rights?

    I am easily confused.

The message from Hodgo was that they wanted as many viewers as possible for GRR. My view is, with Twiggy in the background, big money for the TV rights is not a priority at this early stage. (Unlike the RA.) Though Twiggy is a businessman and in the longer term would probably like to recover his costs.

Tbh I don't think he really has much choice. The markets for grr aren't really flush with a rwady made audience of millions of fans. The ones who have a deep rugby culture don't have a high population and the ones with a high population aren't rugby first cultures. I'd expect the first broadcast dwal to be break even at best not really putting any money into the comp. Once it's evident that the product is good, it'll grow and with that will come viewers, then advertisers, then money. It shouldn't take long to out rate super rugby though.

RugbyPass is a good option .... you can not only watch live but there are post match condensed and full game options available to stream . The stream is good and clear .... specific to SEAsia as well.
