Chairman's Address: A time of change for the Emirates Western Force

The way he says even better new in terms of finalising our squad makes my ears prick up, I hope this is not just getting my hopes up.

Or the un-retirement of Nathan "Farnsey" Sharpe?

    WE DESERVE BETTER

I suppose this video is a complement to the letter headed "YOU DESERVE BETTER" which has arrived in members' letter boxes this week.

    You bet we deserve better.
    • Better value for money, both in the venue's facilities and in the standard of rugby played.
    • Less off-handed dismissals from the membership people when queried about something (like WTF are my membership cards, when we are 2 games into the season).
    • Less flippant "I see no problem" responses from the CEO when it is pointed out that he has lost his coach and his captain in the one season, and that he has taken forever to get a new coach.
    • A team and a management that we can believe it.

Am I convinced to shell out another 2K for the 2013 season?
Not yet. I don't know if I will ever trust this mob again.

So what would convince you if a cleanout and a new direction haven't?

And the changes to the board are (excepting Uncle Vern, of course)?

Isn't that only for the elected members - those elected by the clubs.

Okay, I'll tell you how it works.

Senior Clubs have 2 votes, District Clubs and Affiliated Bodies have 1 vote each. Board members have a vote each as well and usually stick together so unless the clubs organise themselves (which they rarely do) the Board and their allies (the Western Suburbs clubs) rule the roost and the cycle continues.

Some of the Board are elected whilst others are appointed by the Board because they bring specialist expertise to the table.

    So it's business as usual.

They are making all the right noises and there has been some concentrated and intelligent buying and not only in the back room. They are also factoring the concerns of the fans and keeping us involved.
I really feel more confident about next year than any previously.
