    This Saturday at McGillivray

    https://westernforce.rugby/news/game...tember-2024918

It’s free entry for fans when the Western Force take on Perth Gold at UWA Sports Park in Mt Claremont this Saturday in the side’s only warm-up game prior to their three-game South Africa tour.

Western Force Men v Perth Gold Men

    Kick-off 2:30pm

    UWA Sports Park, Mt Claremont

Free entry - no streaming available

Monitor @WesternForce on Twitter for updates

What's else is happening around the ground?

For food and beverages, there will be food trucks at the venue and UWA Rugby Club will open up their bar facilities behind the western grass hill for drinks. The Bledisloe Cup will be on the TV in the club rooms.

Unfortunately, due to a combination of injuries along with Wallaroos and Australia A selections, the women’s game will now be played as a scrimmage session with Perth Gold players from 12:30pm instead.

Ahead of the Super Rugby Men’s U16s and U19s Championships which starts on Sunday 29 September, the two Force under-age teams will have warm-up games from 10:30am.

Western Force-Perth Gold women scrimmage session, 12:30pm – Field 1

    Force U16s v Southern Lions, 10:30am – Field 3

    Force U19s v Joondalup, 10:30am – Field 2

    How much does it cost?

The whole day is free entry!

    How do you get there?

UWA Sports Park is located off Brockway Road in Mt Claremont. The rugby ground is in the south-west corner of the fields.

There is plenty of parking at the venue and we recommend driving to the venue.

There are limited public transport options, with buses 28 and 999 passing nearby. Check Transperth for further info.

    Where can I sit?

Anywhere around the venue but we recommend the western grass hill for an elevated view with shade and to avoid looking into the sun.

    Who’s playing?

The Force will announce their team list on Thursday.

Perth Gold have named their men's team list, view below.

What’s the purpose of the game?

The one-off game offers the Force a final tune-up before the men’s squad departs for a three-game South Africa spring series tour, flying out on Wednesday 25 September.

The Force will face the Cheetahs and Emerging Ireland in the Toyota Challenge (both games streamed by Stan Sport) before a behind-closed-doors clash with the DHL WP XV. The 30-player Force squad for the tour is available here

Perth Gold is a part of RugbyWA's representative community pathway program catering for player and coach progression and aspiration. With a long history, the Premier state team has been representing the state domestically and internationally since the early 1900s, and having notably come against the Wallabies, the British Irish Lions and the Springboks.

The game is set to occur a fortnight after the conclusion of RugbyWA’s 2024 season, with participants selected from the Fortescue Men’s and Women’s Premier Grade having the opportunity to show why they are the best in grass roots rugby in the state.

As the main game clashes with the 2nd half of Bledisloe does anyone know if UWA will have AUS v NZ on in the club house for us to keep an eye on?

Simon Cron: “People talk about winning and losing all the time and they are critical, but there’s a process to get into and it’s the ability to stay present, do your job and execute skills under pressure.”
