White anger at Springboks display
South Africa coach Jake White says the 49-0 loss to South Africa saw a "really was a poor performance by the players".
White was unhappy with the way that referee Paul Honiss constantly penalised his side's rush defence, claiming that Australia "got away with murder at the breakdown".

You lost 49-0 ...had to be the refs fault. It seems to me more and more in pro sports people love to blame the refs for a losing instead of just leaving it at we got beat.
"There's nothing much you can say after you lose like that - this really was a poor performance by the players," said White.
well... then don't say anything! Going and blaming the ref for the sake of making himself and the players look undeserving of the blame. You can hardly blame a 49-0 loss on the ref. Sure Honiss made some mistakes, some unfortunately turning into tries, but the mistakes worked both ways. It's unrealistic to suggest the ref will make a perfect decision every single time and even if he did i'm sure there would still be complaints. They're damned if they do and damned if they don't really. I personally have so much respect for any ref willing to take the job on.
But at the end of the day I'm not surprised at all... Jake White loves to talk. So let him talk... and we'll take the win.![]()
I made Happy sad...

How about, Australia really raised the bar tonight, or, all of us need to look at what we are doing and take some part of the blame?
Not a word about the opposition or any acceptence of fault on his part.....how suprising![]()

Well, perhaps extending on a good theme
Good to see that at least Graham Henry can give credit where it is due, regardless if he believes it or not:
Henry said the return match against the Wallabies, also in Brisbane on July 29, would clearly be a "huge match", and the Australians had to be admired for the way they bounced back from their humbling a week earlier.
"You have to take your hat off to them, they played exceptionally well," he said.
"It's the best I've seen the Australians play for a long time."

Their rush defense was largely out of sync and they were rightly penalised for being offside. The rush defense has been pushing the limit for a while and it didn't work for them that night.
49-0, damn refs.
can I just say it again ... "49 to Nil" ... almost as good as "four more years boys"![]()

IRB World Rankings (According to Pick & Go anyway):
3. Australia 86.45
4. South Africa 86.32
And at this present minute, we're on top of the tri-nations on point dif.
