It seems there was a gathering of representatives of Rugby clubs this week under the auspices of RugbyWA.
Notable absentees were Rockingham, Cottesloe and Kalamunda, but maybe they couldn't afford the bus fare.
Anyway, they weren't the only ones on the bones of their arses. When Chairman Vern begged, pleaded and cajoled each club to purchase a couple of hundred Force tickets over the season and on sell them to their members, nearly all the clubs started looking at their feet, muttering, and shuffling their shoes.
Perth and Wanneroo bleated that they weren't a ticketing office, and in any event didn't have the money to buy the tickets, didn't have the volunteers to sell them, and couldn't afford the risk of being stuck with them.
Well, at least they were open about it. Up until now I've been the only one to say farq u to RugbyWA.
Palmyra however (they got a couple of Force players this year, you see), put up their hand with alacrity. Only two hundred? Give us a thousand, we've got a million ways of selling them. We'll bare our arse and go bankrupt for you. Yes indeedy. Do you have any more Force guys to spare by the way?
When you think about it though, it's probably a cheap way of recruiting a handy half dozen players, I suppose.
And there you have it, Palmyra flavour of the RugbyWA month, and every one else a fart in a telephone box.
Who'd a thunk?
