Western Force and Wallabies star Cameron Shepherd has been charged with drink driving and driving with a suspended licence.
Shepherd, 25, was stopped by police in December and is waiting for a court date.
He will continue training for the 2011 Super Rugby season but is expected to face an Australian Rugby Union disciplinary tribunal following the alleged code of conduct breach.
The Western Force said in a statement: "The ARU Disciplinary Tribunal will consider the Court’s determination and will convene if required following completion of the legal process, which is expected to be finalised within the coming months.
"ARU protocols require that all alleged code of conduct breaches for Australian contracted Super Rugby players are to be heard by an ARU Disciplinary Tribunal rather than at the provincial level.
"As this matter will shortly be before the Court no further comment will be made at this stage."
In May last year Shepherd was convicted of driving a car while his licence was suspended.
Perth Magistrate's Court was told at the time that he was caught driving in Wembley in April.
He pleaded guilty and Magistrate Paul Heaney fined him $400 and suspended his licence for nine months.
His licence had been cancelled until July after another driving offence in 2008.
