Reports are emerging that Sydney Morning Herald Chief Rugby Correspondent - Greg Growden may be that no longer.
Renowned pie eater Growden has not posted an article on Rugby Heaven since 8th October and his current position is in doubt.
Increasing pressure on his tenure followed overwhelming opposition to his comments and columns and the refusal by former Australian Coach John Connolly to conduct a press conference while Growden was there on the departure of the Wallabies to France for the Rugby World Cup.
Unnamed Sauces spoke to waiter Louis from a brasserie near where Growden was staying during the World Cup.
"He was asking for a meat pie to wash down his Château Mouton Rothchild but when his SMH Corporate Credit Card was rejected. He kept crying and moaning and saying.......and...how can I translate ...something like....seduction you Monsieur O'Neill...seduction you Monsieur Knuckles..merde merde merde.....he was quite upset."
A number of players have reported that Growden has now contacted them with letters of apology and offers to write their biography's.
It is understood that these players include George Gregan who offered no comment from Toulouse yesterday.

AMANDA SHALALA FOR CHIEF RUGBY CORRESPONDANT!
Last edited by travelling_gerry; 12-11-07 at 13:26. Reason: dont insult fav journo
I don't know about the banging bit, but by crikey she is an excellent journo given her coverage of the ARC....I agree with the sheik, vote 1 Amanda...
Proudly bought to you by a brewery somewhere....
She had for very nice interview with Kurtley Beale, though she did come across as what you would call 'groupie'
Well it's been more than a month now and still not a whisper from the great pie-eater.
The featured journos now are Phil Wilkins and Jamie Pandarum. There's even been quite a few Rugby articles lately by old Mungo Masters. Though none of them seems to have been titled "The Chief" as yet, so he might still be lurking.
