Ruthless Wallabies coach Dave Rennie has made mass changes to his side despite the breathless draw with the All Blacks in last week’s Bledisloe Cup thriller.
Rennie, in what is only his second team selection as head coach, has made four changes to the Australian side set to take on New Zealand in the second tie on Sunday.

The Wallabies are out to end a 34-year hoodoo at Eden Park.

Hooker Folau Fainga’a, back rower Pete Samu, reserve back rower Rob Valetini and reserve playmaker Noah Lolesio have all been axed from the team announced on Friday.

Ned Hanigan and Brandon Paenga-Amosa have been recalled to play their first game for the Wallabies in two years, while Jordan Petaia and Liam Wright take their place on the bench in the new-look side.

Petaia missed Bledisloe I through injury but is back in the 23 for the Eden Park clash, along with his Queensland captain Wright.

The change at hooker is not unexpected after last week’s draw, with the lineout being a particular area of weakness as the Wallabies lost three of their own throws and did not actively try to target the All Blacks’ lineout, choosing instead not to jump and focus on defending against the subsequent drive.

Hanigan has played mostly at lock for the Waratahs this season in Super Rugby AU but will bring added impetuous to the set-piece, while Wright ws a key receiver for the Reds’ throwing this year.

From the team selection it appears that Rennie is targeting the Wallabies not only retaining more of their own ball at the lineout but also attacking New Zealand in the air.

“We’ve got a group of 44-men who are all working hard and pushing for selection,” said Rennie.

“We’ve had massive support from back home and as a team we definitely feel that and it’s something we’ll draw on on Sunday afternoon.

“We know that New Zealand will step it up another level this weekend, we’re excited by the challenge ahead.”

Australia team to face New Zealand:

    1. James Slipper (97 Tests)

    2. Brandon Paenga-Amosa (4 Tests)

    3. Taniela Tupou (20 Tests)

    4. Lukhan Salakaia-Loto (22 Tests)

I'd have to say, the Wobblies are up against it this week, an angry mob of Sheep Shaggers in a fortress of a stadium playing a team that has been noted for poor mental discipline over a number of years.

Will Hannigan BPA, Wright and Petaia be enough to make a difference.

Hannigan is a known passenger, so on that count I'd say no. the change at Hooker wasn't unexpected, Wright and Petaia would count as pretty good choices.

I'm going to go with this won't change the team enough to hold off the Darkness, NZ by quite a few.

On the bright side, I WILL be watching on Sunday, whichever way it goes I think it'll be worth the effort, It the Wobblies win, I might econside my hatred of them, if they lose, it'll be by plenty and it'll confirm my suspicions

Suspicions confirmed, the wobblies played like the result last week was enough, they were bullied by a ruthless and clinical foe. It appears that they didn't do any training at all on tackling, and felt that the only thing they needed to fix was the line out. For a new Zealander to fail to realise that the all blacks would come out twice the team they were last week is typically unforgivable. I assume the press conference will show them patting themselves on the back for the three things that went well in that disaster.

Who knows how many missed tackles! It was about 24 in the 1st half alone and as for ball control! Sorry Wallabies fans but that was a load of sh1t. (Again)

Im a bit disappointed with the loss. But happy that the Wallabies prevented/All Blacks were unable to put more than 27 points on.

I think that both the Wallabies and the All Blacks still have some improving to do.
