I really don't understand this one.
As far as I can work out, by entering a few different dates, Qatar don't fly any Domestic flights.
All Australian flights I searched involved a layover in Doha and a +$3,000 fare!
So, unless they are laying on special flights, the sponsorship will just cover the Lions International flights and the rest financial to cover the Domestic flights with a different carrier?

Qatar Airways code share with Virgin Australia maybe that could be domestic travel legs?
Jargs may be on the money or there may be (as yet unpublished) special arrangements for the period of the Lions Tour?? Qatar (and some others) operate virtually empty flights on some Oz sectors simply to maintain Australian routes. I know of one Qatar flight that stops in Adelaide and terminates in Melbourne but carries no passengers to Adelaide on return.
