Sorry for the misunderstanding. I absolutely DO care about having a truly national club competition that includes WA as an equal partner. What I don’t give a shit about is the “tribalism of old” between NSW and QLD. NSW ensured that the NRC was a “failure”. My care factor about any new competition that is clearly based around what they want is zero.

    All good.

Was considering not posting more news.

Just a short bit of information about the Penrith Emu's

in the last couple of years prior to their exit from Shute Shield, the club was struggling for numbers. A Shute Shield Club is required to field 5 Grade Teams and 3 Colts Teams. The Club was constantly in trouble for having Colts players playing way more than their mandated playing time per Gameday.

When the Emus were kicked out of the Shute Shield, My club received 16 former Emus players.

This year (about 4 weeks ago) the Emus held an open training session in hopes of showing SRU that they were ready to make a comeback. About 20 players turned up. There has not been another session.

Wow, $450,000 in the first year divided by 20 clubs is $22,500 each pa.
In the next 3 years it will be $250,000 divided by 20 is $12,500 each pa.
Should just about cover one trip to Brisbane or Sydney

My question to Anthony the President of Manly:
""If you as a Shute Shield president dont support the concept, who is actually driving this nonsense of trying to turn 20 amateur cash strapped Sydney and Brisbane clubs into semi-professional clubs and call it a “”National”” club competition. ??""

    his answer:
"Club Rugby fans riding the crest of a sensationalised wave that do not fully comprehend how difficult it is to run a football club. locally, let alone in a national competition."
