Despite my pessimism about it, that our finishers got parity at the scrum when it counted was very pleasing. Maybe opting for such a strong scrummager as BPA from the bench is a another good choice from a very good coach.

That is just huge for us. Such a long term commitment. This bloke is so impressive. Jeez we've had some good loosies over the years and he's right up there.
While the SMH & Co are waffling about playing 2x opensides NCdeC is well on the way to winning the blindside spot.

Might be on this week's list. Coxson looked to be in quite a bit of pain with the wrist injury on Saturday.

Not sure if we have a game this week. The main SMH chook yard babble this week is that the Tahs will be without JA-S against the Reds next week.

I honestly think the 2xOpensides discussion is because they don't want to say that Carlo outplayed the bloke whose tyres they've been pumping up for 2 years.

I think, with Bobby V leading the pack for the big bopper ball runner role and a variety of options at 6 (LSL for a third lock, Leota or CdeC for a workhorse with lineout option or Wilson to 8 and Bobby to 6) the Pooper option is pretty much dead and buried. Neither Fraser or Carlo are a genuine lineout option and that makes it harder for us to win the set piece ball we need.

Think of how much better our lineout is with 4 genuine jumping options over last year where sometimes we only had 2!

Carlo and Fraser fight it out for the 7

Creps and all the lesser humans fight for the 6.

Coxon was fine at training this morning.
All he had was a forearm pressure bandage.

Maybe his extreme pain was of the variety "it's my turn to be seriously injured and miraculously healed once everybody else has had some water and a breath"

pretty happy with that signing. i like the long term signings too, as it provides a base for the squad to build around, and certainty for players.

With such strong players committing that could encourage others to do the same.
