We scrum for posession, run for the try zone, bleed for the team and live for the game
I thought the replacement front row was outstanding…. some hard carries and defence and a more than solid scrum . All in all looking very good going forward either starting or off the bench .
whilst i think we gave the game away needlessly, i agree that the Red looked better. However, i am encouraged by what i am seeing in the playing group.
There is definite strength in their game, as well as desire and passion, then there is depth to the players.
One thing to add - Poolman did not look out of place on the field.
I have had a look at the replay again and yes Fines does box kick with minutes to go, however we gained the ball back. He gets the ball again and there is a substantial amount of space to the left behind the pack, he tries to kick for that spot, which I believe is the right option taking away hindsight. Unfortunately for us the ball comes off the side of his boot and goes to the right rather than straighter and to the left which would have pegged them back deep in their own 22.
This game we love often hinges on mm and a certain amount of luck, sadly this time the lady was not smiling on us.

Yeah I wasn't criticising the idea, but the execution was terminal.
A wormburner that goes out 5m upfield would have worked.
Hit grass behind the D line would have worked.
Pin the fullback in the corner would have worked.
Finesey should probably lose his kicking license for a week. (Harris has already lost his I think)

The funny thing is that I was thinking how much better the kicking had been this year, not so many pointless box kicks, better targeting etc..
