You can tell Bill Pulver to jam his " 50 mins" game thing with this A concept !
You can also tell him to get the games on Fox Sports

Should our A team for this comp be Perth Spirit?
Good idea , tell Rugby WA make it happen!

Whats wrong with the 50 min idea?
If they are going with the reserves format I'd rather they just use the Force name, personally.
Rugby is played over 80 mins NOT 10, 20 OR 50 MINS!
How does this prepare players to play Super rugby?
Actually the laws of rugby say a rugby match must have two halves, and each half cannot be greater than 40 minutes. Thus there is 7, 10 and 15 a side rugby played within the laws
I don't know that is supposed to prepare them for Super Rugby, lower levels of the 15 man game is there to do that![]()

80 Minutes, 15 Positions, No Protection, Wanna Ruck?

Second Grade here in Perth is 2 x 35min half’s (or at least is was) i don’t mind the 2 x 25 half maybe make it 30 or 35 but what I don’t want to see is heaps of law changes.
I don’t mind the no penalty goals one being thrown out there though.

Dear The Man
In a Perfect world - there would be a place for a Reserve grade Super Rugby Competition wholey and soley based in Australia that would be fully funded by Sponsors and televised on free to air Television.
But this is not a perfect world this is a real world.
And in the real world Mr Pulver and the ARU have to find ways to sell this new competition to not only sponsors but to broadcasters as well.
And if that means he has to make some changes to the format of the game to make it more attractive. Then I say let him do it.
Australian Rugby needs a third tier competition.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
But you can kick all day, any day, anywhere really, but there are only so many minutes of genuine rugby opposition that are on offer, better spent in man on man combat rather than individual persuits IMHO.

I'm happy just to see movement. I'd prefer at least 30 min halves. Maybe 25 was thrown up as an ambit.

2nd Grade is 40 min halves no time off
Championship 1st is 40 min halves no time off
U20/U18/3rd Grade/Champ 2nds = 35 min halves no time off
PSA 1st 35 min with time off
All other seniors-U16 = 30 min halves no time off.
<U15 = 25 min halves no time off.
I believe the 25 mins was to allow the teams a half time break plus time to get on/off which was no more that a total of 60 mins, as that's all they have the time for.
50 minutes is better than sitting in the stands or being tacking practice for the A Team.
