Dan Carter is leaving France for Japan this year, but could Hong Kong be next?
Dan Carter has said he would be "silly not to have a look" at the opportunity, if Hong Kong fielded a team in Andrew Forrest's Indo-Pacific Rugby Championship and inquired about his services.
The former All Blacks first-five made the comments to the South China Morning Post, while in Hong Kong for the Natixis Cup, a contest that pits his Racing 92 side against South Africa's Sharks.
"I'm getting a bit old now, it might be as a coach," said Carter of the idea.
"To be honest, I haven't even thought about it.

"Obviously when ideas like that are put out you kind of wait for them to be set in stone and become official before you start looking at opportunities like that.

"But if it was to happen, you'd be silly not to have a look at it."
Forrest, an Australian mining magnate, launched the Indo-Pacific Rugby Championship last year following the axing of the Perth-based Western Force from Super Rugby.
Still in the planning stages, it will feature teams from Asia, potentially including one based in Hong Kong.
Carter, 35, is moving to Japanese club Kobe Steelers on a two-year deal when the 2017-18 European season ends in May. He has spent the past three seasons in France following the All Blacks' triumph at the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
He is currently making his way back from a knee injury, which will likely limit his involvement in the Natixis Cup.
