    Exclamation Player departures

With all the talk and now the reality that Digby is leaving, can someone confirm, or hopefully deny, that Bret Stapleton is also on the going list.

I've heard he's also on the "homesick" list. Whether he goes or not is probably anyone's guess at this stage.

    What's this "homesick" bilge
Fair dinkum, I went away to boarding school at eleven for six years and got home (a place I loved and still live and love) twice a year and I didn't get bloody homesick.
Grow up you fellas, you are meant to be bloody adults....sheesh
I reckon I would go live on the moon for a sniff of the dollars you blokes are being offered

But if you thought you could make just as much money, still attain your rugby goals and move back close to your family.........??

The part of these too-ings & fro-ings that is pretty poor is when they players and/or their agents don't go by their word. When that happens you may as well let them go. Not sure but it sounds like the case in this instance so I wouldn't mind betting John Mitchell's advice was to let him go. If so, I also wouldn't expect to see Digby selected this week.

Wonder if he's pulled out of the Melbourne ARC squad as well?

Confirmation in tonight’s Cut Out Pass that Brett Stapleton and Matt Windle will both be leaving us.
My understanding is that makes the list:

    Brendan Cannon
    Digby Ioane
    Chris O'Young
    Brett Stapleton
    Matt Windle

I feel most sad for Stapleton as he was apparently let go with the understanding that Ioane was re-signing.
While it is sad to say goodbye, this also opens up five roster spots for the Apprentices, Academy Members, locals and Eastern Staters to vie for.
Looking forward to finding out who gets signed up.
It is also worth noting the quality of player that we were able to retain during a difficult contracting period.
Well done to those responsible for negotiating the contracts
