Well Roger Cook just maybe got the jump on PVL, though there is still a fair bit of fog around the financials. Predictably the 7 West Media sock puppet AKA the Leader of the (miniature) Opposition is shouting "show us the money" from a long way behind the sidelines. Reading between the lines most of the taxpayer money will be towards "grass roots" and infrastructure - with a slice of collateral spin-off for Rugby & Fudbol. I won't be a member but will attend some games. While I doubt I'll be a supporter, I won't hold them in real contempt like ..oh, say.......The Murdoch Storm.

The titan and the terrier: How Roger Cook outfoxed the brains behind a ‘commercial colossus’

P.S. Coincidentally, I noticed over the weekend that the similarly kitted-out Willagee Bears have returned to 1st Grade this year.
I wonder if "The Witch" has made a comeback too Gunny.

2027 confirmed as the launch year - that's a bit tight to get a team together.

Cook actually hedged a little saying 27 or 28. In very typical fashion. The West frontpaged with something like....
    Bad News Bears.
Rugby Mad premier forces WA taxpayers to pay for NRL rejects.

Interesting to say the least in the SMH:

We’ve had talks with Twiggy Forrest in regards to the Western Force,” V’landys said of the Force’s multi-billionaire owner.

“There’s an opportunity here that may never have been done anywhere in the world where the two teams could be combined to a certain degree and can use each other’s players in specific matches.......

We scrum for posession, run for the try zone, bleed for the team and live for the game

Both PVL & AF are known for thinking outside the square. That one could be outside the solar system.

I doubt the ARLC will factor the 7 West clickbait in the decision, but there are rumours floating around Sydney that they are going to slot another Origin match at The Craypot in 2026 to keep up momentum.

V'Landys is completely off his chump. Can I have what he is on to believe there can be player sharing.

first of all rugby union is my game
    but i think differently
Force and bears combining their ops as much as they can is a no brainer
and if twiggy thinks it's a good idea so will everyone, be sure of that!
on field is a bit more difficult
eventually it will happen tho, and the girls will lead the way
super w and NRLw comps dont even clash, the girls could probably just about go full time
    nrlw

We drove up from Yallingup and stayed at the Crown Tower Wednesday to Thursday for our Grandsons 18th birthday. Coming out of the Epicurean Restaurant I bumped into Y'landys and Abdo, had a little chat with them and thanked them for bringing RL back to WA. Nice guys and happy to give some time to a fan.

So did you tell them you'll dump "The Most Hated" & join the Bears.

That's true. The Brooky faithful seem to be the ones keeping it alive. "Guess what. Manly hates you too"
