EMIRATES WESTERN FORCE MEDIA RELEASE
Monday, 11 March 2013
Emirates Western Force A has named nine players with Super Rugby experience to take on Samoa A in their IRB Pacific Rugby Cup fixture at Ballymore in Brisbane tomorrow.
The Force A side includes hooker Ben Whittaker, who will make his first rugby appearance for 2013 after being sidelined with a foot injury. Whittaker will pack down alongside Emirates Western Force teammates Kieran Longbottom and Salesi Manu.
Emirates Western Force back-rower Locky McCaffrey will again captain the side after leading them to a 23-16 win over Rebel Rising in their last outing in Melbourne last month.
Samoa A enters the match on the back of a 33-24 win over Sydney Academy in Sydney on Thursday.

so is Rapana staying on in Perth?
I can't believe you didn't take the opportunity to put an extra "A" at the end of that title...
"FORCE A NAMED TO TACKLE SAMOA A IN BRISBANE A"
coz Stone Cold says so
If this is the 'A' team, that makes the squad for the Reds:

2. Charles
3. Faulkner
4. MMM
5. Lynn
6. Cottrell
7. Hodgson
8. McCalman
9. Matthewson
10. Ebersohn
11. Mafi
12. Godwin
13. Stanley
14. Cummins
15. Norton-Knight
16. Tessman
17. Ma'afu
18. Wykes
19. Alcock
20. Eaton
21. Dellit
22. Tupou
Or have I missed an injury report? Tough on Brownie, unless we go for a 5-2 bench.
BTW, does Cottrell have a nickname? Shame we can't call him 'Angry Angus', being sponsored by McDonalds that might not go down too well
But lookign at the schedule:
Sydney Academy gets 3 games, plus one for Junior Waratahs
Brisbane Academy gets 2 games, plus 2 for Reds College XV
Brumby Runners get 2 games
Force and Rebels get 1 game each, but we don't even get a home crowd - we play in Brisbane
Nicely organised ARU/IRB to share the games around the unions.
Hodgson was due to have a fitness test today to see if he is fit enough to play at the weekend.
Cottrell's nickname seems to be just "Gus".
The team flies out on Weds.
Proudly Western Australian; Proudly supporting Western Australian rugby
Hodgo won't be fit to play, hamstrings need more time than that!
No coverage for Matthewson. Can't see Snowden anywhere in your lineup Sheik.

i think the reason why the force and rebels a teams only play one game each and both away would simply be the fact that the money is not there to cart all these island nation teams all over Aus.
